HERITAGE AND TRADITION

It is in 1912 that Pierre Henri Lacoste has been installed vine grower on the vineyard of the Domaine du Chatain on Néac. Previously wine shipper, he brought the wine barrels on board of his cart harnessed with his horse to the port of Libourne.
On their side, Marguerite and Georges Rivière concretized their vine-grower work by buying vines and fields at the Graves de Lavergne (village of Néac) in 1917. It is with the wedding of Denise Lacoste (daughter of Pierre Henri Lacoste) and Andre Rivière (grandson of Marguerite and Georges Rivière) that the two estates were blended to form the Château Haut Chatain.

Today, it is Martine Rivière, their daughter, who manages, works out and sell the wines of the family winery and thus perpetuates the tradition and the know-how transmitted since more than 5 generations.
